Runners start in the dark on Saturday morning and will run for 28 hours maximum – finishing on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. The course stretches along two mountains, Mount Abang and Mount Batur, forests, farmlands, crater ridges and volcanic areas. The normal temperature is hot and humid during the day and cold and breezy through the night.
